AFTER EXPOSURE – A CYCLOPEDIA OF BROKEN CAMERAS
Many years ago I handed in a broken camera for repair. Behind the counter I saw hundreds of camera wrecks. Ingenious but useless technology from the 50s until today. The camera repairman has now retired, the workshop is closed and the scrap depot from sixty years back has ended up at my house. This project is an archeological survey of these remains. A book was released this spring after a Kickstarter campaign. The essay is written by Dan Jönsson, grappling with the existential conundrum of our civilization’s ever more problematic metabolism.
